TDG

Joshua Antwan Newkirk, also known as TDG (Twan Da God) was born October 12, 1987 in Elizabethtown, NC and relocated to Fayetteville, NC when he was 6 years old. TDG along with his older brother and sister was raised by his mother who worked as a store manager and step father who served in the military. TDG became very interested in music at a young age listening to such artist as Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Big Pun, Nas, etc. He started making beats and rapping in the 6th grade with a group of friends. TDG also attended half his high school years at Western Harnett High School and the rest at Overhills High School where he became known for his music by passing out mixtapes in school. TDG has performed in a many different states such as NC, TN, NY, GA, SC, AZ, NV and other states. TDG writes and produces all his own music. TDG has also worked with Hip-Hop recording artist and film writer Sacario who wrote “If I Could Go” for Angie Martinez, which debut to much acclaim in 2001. The record won a Nielson BDS spin award for accumulating over 190,000 radio spins. TDG has released 3 mixtapes “I Be Twan”, Bipolar”, and “Straight Like That” which can be found on indy.livemixtapes.com . TDG has a very unique sound and is determined to leave a mark in the Hip-Hop industry.
